Jessie J Concert Stabbing Victim Dies: Father of Two Dead After Assault at London Club

LL

I wasn't even aware of the existence of penny auctions until about 6 weeks ago. Now I can't imagine buying anything other than food or clothing anyplace else. My favorite is at ( http://tinyurl.com/TopBargains ) It took me a few days to figure out how to bid but now I am savings big bucks there. How they can sell iPads, Macbooks, HDTVs, Digital Cameras, Gaming Consoles, and more for steep discounts of 75%, 80%, or even 85% off retail price, I don't know. I do know that I bought my son an iPad there for less than $100 and my husband a $250 Lowe's gift card for $48. Why would I shop anyplace else?

Embrace The Online Marketing Era, Or Die http://www.nessbasch ...

LATEST INTERNET MARKETING NEWS?Embrace The Online Marketing Era , Or Die http://www.nessbasch.com?

During your recent visit to the once favorite Borders bookstore down town to browse, someone may be saying this, ?I still can?t believe this is store is closing. This store is on the National Register overseas because that historic building used to be a bank. Can you even imagine? I still can?t even believe that Borders has filed for bankruptcy. I guess they just couldn?t keep up in in this internet age.?

With online shopping, and the advent of e-readers, and promises by retailers to deliver any book, anytime, anywhere, with cheaper pricing, consumers are abandoning the traditional brick and mortar bookstores, like Borders, similar to what they did with music stores a decade ago.

This made us pause to think. As small business owners, we must also be constantly changing or we will be left behind just like Borders. This is a lesson that we don?t want to learn the hard way. We must always be aware of the current and hottest market trends in the market so that we stay on top.

Seattle-based Amazon started as an online bookstore in 1995 selling hardcover and paperback books. Today, as the largest online retailer in the US, Amazon has added apparel, furniture, cosmetics electronics and more to its company. Its products are offered in dozens of categories, but people still think that Amazon only sells books. Amazon continues to stay on top because they continue to add new services.

Many lessons can be learned from Amazon through leveraging its power to grow our business:

Lesson 1: Diversify Your Products

An Online E- Commerce Store numerous ways to sell the same product. For instance, if you have a report, you can list the report as a physical product, in digital form as an eBook or even record it and offer it as an audio book. By changing the format, you can sell your products to millions of buyers in one click since digital shops stores credit card information in a user?s account.

It?s really easy for the buyer to add a product to his shopping cart.

In 2007 when Amazon announced the revolutionary wireless reading device, Kindle, and began selling books in the Kindle format, I bet Amazon never imagined that customers would be purchasing more Kindle books today then all printed books ? hardcover and paperback ? combined. With more than 950,000 eBooks, newspapers, magazines and blogs listed, buyers are flying to Amazon?s Kindle Store to purchase products that can be read on Kindle e-readers, iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, PC, Mac, Blackberry and Android-based devices. Digital books are definitely here to stay!

Through Digital Publishing, it is easy to self-publish an eBook in minutes by converting and uploading it from a variety of preferred formats. You must own all the publishing rights to any content you upload for sale in the Worldwide Web E- Store. Digital Publishing pays you a royalty for each title you sell.

Another benefit to listing one or more of your products with online is that the listing of your products will also rank higher in the search engines based upon the key words in the name of your product. E- Commerce leads in its page rank and credibility with Google and other search engines, so your product page will get ranked quickly and often times will be ranked higher than your own web site!

By ranking in the top searches in Google and other search engines, your product will be exposed to more people. This means more potential sales. So, strategically placing key phrases in your product title helps you get ranked higher for those key words in Google and the other search engines.

By listing your products in an e-commerce, it can stores in a number of different formats, you are ahead of the game!

Lesson 2: Fulfillment of Products: Dependable & Quick

Did you know that E- Commerce Enabled Websites also allows merchants to access its world-class fulfillment capabilities to have a digital portal fulfilling orders for you? This is a great reliable and quick resource to consider for your product orders. Online Shopping Carts enable sites also allows you to store inventory in their fulfillment center, if you don?t want to store it yourself. ?An E-commerce Website will then later fulfill the product order for you.

Online stores take care of it all when a customer places an order. Digital packages and mails the products to your customer. You then can combine your product with other shopping cart items which enables the customer to receive your Super Saver Shipping rates. Online shopping function can ?also provide customer service and returns support so you don?t have mess with anything. This is an invaluable resource allowing small businesses to increase their sales through leveraging today?s digital era of fulfillment infrastructure.

Lesson 3: Online Web Presence: Your Business Face To The World

Business Workshop: Investing in India a challenge

April 9, 2012 12:00 am

By Dennis Unkovic?/?

It makes sense that the many Western Pennsylvania companies looking for investment opportunities in Asia consider India, the world's largest democracy and a place where English is widely spoken. Moreover, Pittsburgh's research universities and high tech community already have created a number of successful ventures throughout the sub-continent.

Any company wanting to invest in India will inevitably face a number of challenges that may impede the best laid business plans. First and foremost, India suffers from a very poor nationwide infrastructure of roads, bridges, railways, ports and electrical generating capacity. While upgrading India's infrastructure offers business prospects to engineers, equipment makers and other suppliers, for other companies it could serve as an impediment to doing business.

Other drawbacks India must overcome include:

? An overly bureaucratic and frequently corrupt system of business regulation.

? A historically high and seemingly uncontrollable birthrate that threatens to tax the economic system despite India's current growth rate of 6 to percent annually.

? Historical political, religious and ethnic conflicts.

India also has an uneven distribution of wealth and resources, making some locations more desirable than others for foreign investors. Among the hottest Indian metropolitan areas for foreign investment is India's "Silicon Valley" of Bangalore, as well as the high tech communities of Hyderabad and Chennai.

The Indian government historically discouraged foreign investment, and even went through a period when it tried to make India completely self sufficient. Those days are gone. Today, the Indian government seems serious about opening up opportunities to foreign investors.

Given the current situation, India could represent a great investment opportunity for a company that will need a highly educated local workforce and for which an efficient distribution system is not essential.

Most Important Health Benefits of Peppermint Tea | What is Health ...

Peppermint has been used as a natural herbal medicine for at least 10 000 years. Why is peppermint effective in treating diseases and improving your overall health? Why and when should you try peppermint tea and include it in your daily menu? In this article you?ll read about five most important benefits of peppermint tea.

1. Relieves symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a very common chronic disease. Scientists from the University of Adelaide in Australia found out that peppermint may help alleviate inflammatory pain in the gastrointestinal tract which is one of the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Drinking peppermint tea may also alleviate other symptoms such as indigestion, bloating, diarrhea and/or constipation.

2. Get rid of a headache, colds and flu

Peppermint contains high amounts of menthol which is very effective in treating colds and flu. Firstly, menthol is a decongestant which means that it relieves nasal congestion, more commonly known as ?stuffy nose?. Secondly, menthol has cooling effects which may help get rid of sore throat and dry coughs.

Drinking peppermint tea is also a good natural way to relieve a tension headache. Another way to use peppermint to get rid of a headache is to apply a drop of peppermint oil to the temples.

3. It probably lowers blood pressure and blood sugar levels

Some preliminary research suggests that peppermint may help lower high blood pressure and reduce blood sugar levels.

4. Helps deal with stress and improves memory

Cooling and relaxing effects of menthol relieve stress and help cure insomnia. If you suffer from chronic stress, including peppermint tea in your daily menu may help you deal with this problem.

What?s more, simply smelling the aroma of peppermint improves memory and increases concentration. Consequently, peppermint tea is a very healthy and useful drink for students, especially before examinations.

5. Improves breath (helps get rid of bad breath) and breathing

Menthol found in peppermint tea is the same menthol that is used in toothpaste, mouthwash, chewing gums and candies. If you have problems with bad breath, drinking peppermint tea regularly may help you improve your breath.

Individuals who suffer from mild asthma also use peppermint to reduce symptoms.

Remember that you can drink peppermint tea either hot or cold, with additional ingredients or not. You can also benefit from peppermint by taking peppermint oil capsules or applying peppermint oil in fluid to your skin.

These five health reasons to drink peppermint tea are only a few of numerous health benefits peppermint and menthol provides. What about precautions and potential side effects? Peppermint is generally safe for most people. However, if you?re pregnant or if you suffer from a serious illness, ask your doctor first.

'Bully' downgraded to PG-13 as ratings system assailed from all sides

Antibullying advocates wanted 'Bully' to be bumped from R to PG-13 so teens could watch it. But family groups are appalled by the language. Did the process work or fail??

The documentary ?Bully? has been officially retagged PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America. This shift from its initial R rating for language occurred after a drawn-out battle of wills among the studio, the trade association responsible for the voluntary ratings system, and vocal advocates of antibullying initiatives.???

A compromise version, which cuts the number of "F-bombs," will be in theaters beginning April 13, when the film goes into national distribution.

Now that the?critically lauded, but by all accounts emotionally difficult film will be open to the teen crowd it depicts, the question is: Was the film itself a victim of ?bullying? by an outmoded, out-of-touch?ratings group, or is it an example of the free-market system finding the best balance between freedom of expression and protecting family values in the marketplace??

?Ironically, 'Bully' the movie was bullied by the MPAA,? says?Marie Newman, co-author of? "When Your Child Is Being Bullied: Real Solutions," via e-mail.

The MPAA has done this before, she says, but not with a film that mattered so much to the audience being excluded.

?If all children and parents are not allowed to see this documentary, it will defeat it purpose to generate higher awareness of the bullying epidemic and education of what bullying truly looks and feels like,? she says. ?Thirteen million children being bullied everyday is 13 million too many.??

The rating system, which dates to 1968, ?is in any case a childish system,? says Paul Levinson, author of ?New New Media,? in an e-mail. Adults use this system, he says, ?in a wrongheaded attempt to regulate what their children can see, especially in this online age in which people of all ages can see anything they like.?

But in the case of the "Bully" movie, he adds, ?putting anything in the way of kids seeing this movie ? kids who could well be victims of bullying themselves ?was not only foolish but destructive."

Others suggest that in an age of free-for-all media, the ratings system provides a last vestige of guidance for parents hoping to steer their children to appropriate entertainment options.?On Friday, the Parents Television Council knocked the MPAA for what it called an arbitrary and destructive decision to change the rating for "Bully" ?despite the unprecedented inclusion of multiple instances of the harshest profanity.?

IN a statement, the council?called for more accountability from the MPAA, such as a reform of the ratings system to allow greater input from the public ?rather than just Hollywood insiders.?

The notoriously arms-length MPAA, which does not reveal the names of so-called ?average? parents and community members that help assess a film?s rating,? however, has said that this process of negotiation between studios and the ratings board shows the resilience and flexibility of the ratings system in a swiftly evolving media environment.?

The MPAA did not answer calls to either its?Los Angeles or Washington offices, but in a statement?in the Los Angeles Times, Joan Graves, head of the MPAA division that oversees ratings, said: ?Per the standard rating process available to all filmmakers, The Weinstein Company decided to resubmit a new, edited version of 'Bully' to be rated, and the ratings board gave this new version of the film a PG-13....?

She continued, ?In the case of 'Bully,' the ratings system has worked exactly as it is supposed to: Parents have been kept informed of the content of each version of the film, and they have been given the information they need to make moviegoing decisions on behalf of their kids."

Dog eats tickets to Masters golf tournament

(AP) ? Russ Berkman's dream came true when he won a lottery for four passes to Wednesday's practice round at the Masters golf tournament in Georgia. But the Seattle-area resident's stomach turned when he found his dog, Sierra, had eaten them.

Berkman told KJR radio on Tuesday he was determined to go. His girlfriend told him he had to make Sierra puke.

He induced vomiting and recovered a gooey glob. Then he went to work trying to put about 20 vomit-covered pieces back together.

He says he recovered about 70 percent of the tickets. He took photos and explained the situation to the Augusta National Golf Club as "my dog ate my Masters tickets!"

They reprinted Berkman's tickets and had them waiting for him in Georgia.

By Jessica Kliethermes "JewelryMemorials.com"

The idea of reading yet another title on SEO was not very appealing, but after reading some of the reviews I gave it a shot. After putting forth the ideas outlined in this book, our small website moved from the fifth page of google to the number ONE spot on the first page! I am not exaggerating, grab this book, leave it by your computer when working on your website and do everything it says. I am ?learning as I go? all of this internet stuff and never once was I lost or confused by the explanations and directions. I feel like this book literally is saving our business.

A GOLDMINE OF INFORMATION TO NEVER BE WITHOUT!

I have several websites that are currently looking to optimize their traffic to each site, but to do the task for myself was a daunting one. I could figure out the simple things, such as sending out emails to specific lists and advertising through friend?s sites and reviews, but anything more than that was far beyond my capabilities. In a single reading of this book, that has drastically changed.
Blankson has created an effortless read. The layout is such that you can read the whole book for a step-by-step process, which I would recommend, or pick out the areas most relevant to your needs. His language is easy to follow for anyone and jargon that must be used is fully explained. His book is full of essential suggestions, like using social sites and how to best showcase your site, and more advanced suggestions like how to improve your page ranking and to optimizing keywords. One of the things that helped me the most was that his every concept was coupled with sites and links that allowed you to begin the process and in many cases explained things even further. This allowed him to wean out the fluff usually included and focus on the relevant aspects. His appendixes alone will save you time and frustration and make this book more than worthwhile.
I am now fully confident that I have the tools I need to create more traffic for the sites I work for. This is a book that I will always keep close by the computer. It far exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it to anyone who needs to optimize their search engine potential.

This book was a blessing for me to have come across. I own a handful of online stores and businesses. I have spent thousands of dollars on eBooks and manuals guaranteed to show me results. Of course, these books were all pretty much the same thing. Only about two percent of the information contained in these books pertained to me or my situation. Then I came across Samuel Blankson?s book, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), and read it in a single day.

He manages to leave out all of the irrelevant information that most e-books and informational portals fill their pages with. The book targeted the specific questions, ideas and information I had been looking for as an everyday person trying to promote my online business. He helped to deliver a total understanding of who is on the internet, what they are looking for, how they are looking for it and how they want it delivered.

This book walks you through everything from setting up your website, META and TITLE tags, troubleshooting, sitemaps, keywords, site content and search engine optimizations. It is a one stop resource for all your online marketing needs. Samuel also provides information on several directories you can add your website to.

If you have a question about SEO?s or marketing your online business, this book has the answers. Language barriers? There is a section on that. Promoting your site through the use of social networks? Covered. How can you really promote your business through the world of blogging? Read about it.

There are so many ways to get the word out there, and this book covers them all. You will be amazed at all the resources, knowledge and ideas this book has to offer. I have personally used a few tips from the book over the past week and have already seen traffic to my website double. I cannot wait to implement more of the things I have learned.
